Reading is a good habit that we should try to instill in our children from an early age. It\u2019s not an easy task, but it helps to have stories that kids will love.<\/em><\/p>

Reading helps us learn and grow, and it\u2019s something that, in this day and age, many are doing less and less. Many people won\u2019t pick up a book and read it cover to cover. This might be because they are tired, they don\u2019t have time, or they have trouble paying attention. But, I think we should try to change this and read at least one book per month. <\/p>

Parents are role models for their children. If we don\u2019t read, it\u2019s likely that they won\u2019t either. There are some things that we can do to help our little ones, like setting aside time in the day for the whole family to read together, without any technological distractions. <\/p>

It\u2019s also important for us to let children choose what they want to read. Many adults don\u2019t like to read because the books they were given to read in school as children were not to their liking or interesting to them. This makes people reject reading as they grow up. That\u2019s why the best way to instill a love of reading in our children is to let them read what they like. It doesn\u2019t necessarily have to be a book. It could be a comic, for example. The most important thing is that they develop the habit of reading. <\/p>

Finally, read with them. Reading together encourages them to pay attention to what is on the page. Then, talk about the book and ask questions like: is that what you thought was going to happen? What was your favorite part? Who was your favorite character? These simple actions help them enjoy reading more. <\/p>

I\u2019ve made a short list of books that I love to read with the little ones in my family. They are books that have a positive message and instill some values that are very important for them to learn. In addition, each has gorgeous illustrations that transport us to the magical worlds of the stories and make reading more entertaining for kids. <\/p>

Juno Valentine and The Magical Shoes<\/em><\/strong> by Eva Chen<\/strong><\/p>

This book is perfect for my kids, but so far, we\u2019ve only been able to find it in English. In the story, Juno loses her favorite shoes and ends up on a journey in which she meets incredible women from the past and present, from Frida Kahlo and Marie Curie to Oprah Winfrey, Sally Ride, and Lady Gaga.<\/p>

The Little Prince<\/em><\/strong> by Antoine de Saint-Exup\u00e9ry<\/strong><\/p>

This classic is one of the world\u2019s best-selling books. We accompany the main character, the Little Prince, on a journey in which he learns about love, friendship, and enjoying the little things in life that he might otherwise have taken for granted. This fable is a must for children but also adults. <\/p>

Library Lion<\/em><\/strong> by Michelle Knudsen<\/strong><\/p>

This story helps us to teach our children about diversity and understand others\u2019 differences. In the story, a lion walks into a library where he is not accepted at first, but over time, the others change their opinion of him, and he becomes a vital part of the community. This is a book about rules, and how sometimes, they must be broken. <\/p>

Where the Wild Things Are<\/em><\/strong> by Maurice Sendak<\/strong><\/p>

Max is a child who gets sent to bed without dinner because of bad behavior and is then transported to a land of monsters. At first, he is fascinated, but then, when night falls, he realizes that he misses his family and decides to return. Once back home, he finds his family waiting for him with open arms. <\/p>

The Story of Ferdinand<\/em><\/strong> by Munro Leaf<\/strong><\/p>

This is probably a book that you read as a child. In it, Ferdinand shows us that it\u2019s ok to be different, that we don\u2019t have to like what everyone else does. The important thing is to be happy. We also learn that it\u2019s important to not judge people based on their appearances, that we need to get to know them on a deeper level before forming an opinion of them. <\/p>

The literary world has no bounds. Some of these stories are perfect for both the youngest and oldest members of your household. And, there are many more options such as The Cat in a Hat<\/em> or The Lorax<\/em> from Dr. Seuss, the timeless Winnie-the-Pooh series from A.A. Milne, and Peter Rabbit<\/em> from Beatrix Potter, just to name a few. All of these incredible stories have an important moral to share.<\/p>

Through reading, we can learn about virtually anything, from physics to economy, art, or history. But, if we don\u2019t start young, it\u2019s difficult to form the habit. So, let\u2019s show our children how to enjoy a good book, and remember that the most important thing is for them is to like what they are reading. To do this, we just need to find stories that they will love. <\/p>
