The kind of rapid global warming that we\u2019re experiencing today is unusual for the history of our planet. A\u00a0warmer climate brings with it changes that can affect our water supply, agriculture, energy and transportation\u00a0systems, natural habitat, and even our personal health and safety.<\/p><\/blockquote>

Climate change can be caused by various activities. When climate change occurs; temperatures rise dramatically. When temperatures rise, this affects many aspects of life on the planet. For example, it can result in more flooding, droughts or heavy rains, as well as more frequent and severe heat waves. Oceans and glaciers also undergo changes. Currently, oceans are getting warmer and more acidic, glaciers are melting, and sea levels are rising. Since these changes occur quickly, it is likely that our society and our environment will face changes in the upcoming decades.<\/p>

\"\"<\/figure>

During the past century, human activities have released large amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Most of the gases come from burning fossil fuels to produce energy. Greenhouse gases are like a blanket around the Earth, trapping energy in the atmosphere and causing it to heat up. This is called the greenhouse effect, and it is natural and necessary to sustain life on earth. However, as greenhouse gases accumulate, the climate changes, resulting in dangerous effects on human health and ecosystems.<\/p>

Some climatic changes are inevitable and nothing can be done about them. For example, carbon dioxide can remain in the atmosphere for almost a century, so Earth will continue to warm in the future. The gases that influence the atmosphere are water vapor, carbon dioxide, hydrogen oxide, and methane. The climate has cooled and warmed over the history of the planet for a number of reasons. Some of the factors that influence the climate, such as volcanic eruptions and changes in the amount of solar energy, are natural. Snow and ice also have a great effect on the weather. When snow and ice melt, Earth’s climate warms and less sunlight is reflected, which causes even more warming.<\/p>

There are many ways that plants, animals, and other life forms on our planet can affect the climate. Plants extract carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as they photosynthesize, and during the night, they release carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere. Methane is produced as farm animals, such as cattle and sheep, digest their food. When wildfires occur, carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere. However, if a forest of similar size grows back, about the same amount of carbon that was added to the atmosphere during the fire will be re-absorbed.<\/p>

\"\"<\/figure>

Scientists predicted a loss of sea ice, an accelerated rise in sea level, and more intense heat waves. Now, they say that global temperatures will continue to rise for the decades to come, largely due to greenhouse gases produced by human activities. This has been the warmest decade since 1880. The earth could warm another 7.2 degrees Fahrenheit during the 21st century if we fail to reduce emissions from burning fossil fuels. The industrial activities upon which our modern civilization depends have increased atmospheric carbon dioxide levels from 280 parts per million to 379 parts per million in the last 150 years.<\/p>

In conclusion, we must all participate and try to stop global warming and the other effects of climate change. If the temperature of the earth continue to rise in the future, all life may become extinct. If humans contribute to trying to control global warming, we could cool down the world. If we come together as one and try to put an end to the effects of climate change, we will be building a safer world for ourselves and future generations.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
