A tour of one of the most emblematic neighborhoods in Miami. Little Havana is a paradise where the Caribbean culture of Cuba comes to life through food, art, and people.
Today I decided to venture out to Little Havana. This vibrant Miami neighborhood has always been one of my favorite spots. The colors, the food, the people–I love everything about this place. Every corner of this neighborhood celebrates Cuban culture. Little Havana is the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon in Miami.
I love going to Calle Ocho, at the heart of the neighborhood. Here you’ll find incredible culinary options that’ll give you a taste of Cuban flavor. My favorite is Café La Trova, from chefs Michelle Bernstein and David Martinez, where I enjoyed some croquetas and a refreshing mojito. I walked down Calle Ocho admiring the shops, the street art, the energy of the people, and the rooster sculptures, and I finally reached the Walk of Fame, Little Havana’s version of the Hollywood one. There, you can find names of celebrities like Celia Cruz, Thalia, and Gloria Estefan. Then, I bought some delicious ice cream at the legendary Azucar Ice Cream Company.
Once the sun goes down, this neighborhood becomes perfect for romantic dates. My husband and I met up at the legendary Tower Theater Miami, where we watched great a Latin American film. Then, we continued the night with dinner out at Sala’o, which has a delicious variety of seafood, classic rum cocktails, and live Latin music like salsa, cumbia, and rumba. It’s the perfect way to end the night!
For the daytime, I chose an outfit inspired by the colors of Little Havana: a two-piece Jacquemus suit in a bright pink hue. I paired the suit with a neon orange top that went perfectly with my high-heeled leather sandals from Prada. To protect myself from the sun and complement the look, I wore my white cat eye sunglasses from Valentino. For the evening, I went with all black. I changed into pants, a black silk shirt, a XL baroque Versace print silk scarf, and some glasses for that extra touch of Hollywood glamor.
As Celia Cruz says, life is a carnival! We have to laugh and enjoy our days. What better way to do it than with the perfect look?
