This week, I went to the Big Apple for a few days to enjoy the most recent edition of New York Fashion Week. The trip was full of excitement, fun, and style.

Dear diary:

Once again the time has come to discover the new collections of the most important designers in the world, from New York to Paris, London to Milan. Yes, Fashion Month has started. Participating in this circuit – in which I go to at least 3 of the most important fashion capitals – is an arduous task. A lot of people don’t realize the amount of work it takes to go to Fashion Week; they just see the images, our IG stories at the fashion shows and think “Oh that looks like fun.” Don’t get me wrong, it’s full of fun and joy, but it’s also exhausting.

I arrived in New York on Sunday night. After the flight, I was exhausted so I went straight to my hotel. This time I stayed at The Peninsula Hotel on Fifth Avenue, which was an excellent option. Whenever I’m away from home, I like to find a place like this that makes me feel at home. Like any other day of New York Fashion Week, my morning started very early. I woke up around 6 AM. The best thing about being in NYC are the spectacular views you have from your window. After taking a long bath I began my skincare routine. I enjoyed a delicious breakfast, which I ordered from one my favorite places in New York, Joe & The Juice. I got the Acai Bowl 2.0 with granola, chia, strawberries, goji berries, and banana. I also ordered a ginger shot and a turmeric shot, to increase my defenses against the weather. While I was finishing breakfast, my Glam Squad arrived. We went with cat-eye eyeliner and accents in peach for the makeup, and for the hair we opted for a messy ponytail.

My look for the Carolina Herrera show was amazing! It was a mermaid cut dress from their Spring 2022 collection with a pale and white striped print, pleated skirt, fabric flowers, and ruffle detail on the shoulders. I combined it with orange suede and PVC sandals with the “Carolina Herrera” logo in italics and a white plexiglass bead necklace—all from Carolina Herrera obviously. I paired it all with a Kelly bag in blood orange from Hermès and topped off my look with one of the classic lipsticks of the brands that comes with a Lovewins lid that doubles as a charm. I loved my look–the perfect blend of Upper East Side chic and Latin spirit!

I left my hotel for the Carolina Herrera show. I got there right on time – traffic in Manhattan is always horrible – but I have to say it was worth the rush to get there. The collection was beautiful. Wes Gordon has really managed to capture all the essence of elegance that is Carolina Herrera and translate it into avant-garde designs full of life and joy. After the show, I created some content (videos and photos) for social media with my team. I went back to the hotel to rest and recharge, and in the evening, I went out to dinner at Nusr-Et Steakhouse. I love eating there. I got an Istanbul steak and an onion flower–two musts for anyone who goes to the restaurant.

I finally decided to go back to the hotel to rest. This Valentine’s Day was a great day, but I did feel a little down because it was the first on in 15 years during which I wasn’t with my husband. But, we’ll celebrate together soon.

XO
