As we start a new month from 2021, I was reflecting on how last year changed our whole world. From now on the way we interact with other people, the way we do fashion week, go grocery shopping, go out at night has been changed. Obviously, the way we workout has changed too, so, I want to share with you a cheat sheet on how to keep healthy and exercise this 2021.

The World Health Organization advices to exercise 5 hours a week (at least) to have a healthy life, mind and body. During 2021 we will start to exercise more and look for unique personalized experiences that will keep us healthy. But in this brave new world, which is the best way to keep fit? 

At home training 2.0

Due to the strong restrictions that have become part of our life, in 2020 we learned how to exercise at our house. So, the most common way to be fit this year will be staying at home but reloaded, we will start looking for digital trainers or fitness classes, such as The be.come Project or Ballet Beautiful, that offer specialized training without leaving the comfort of your home.

Nordic walking

I found this new exercise and fell in love with it immediately!  If you do it right, it will help you to tone arms, abdomen, buttocks and legs. I would recommend doing 3 to 4 sessions a week in order to really achieve the ideal results. I think this is the perfect way to be healthy while enjoying the natural beauty of our world.

Outdoor junkies

Hiking, biking and running have been some of the most practiced exercises with the fitness crowd. The fact that this type of exercises allows us to be social distanced from each other makes me think they will become very popular in the near future.

Inside out

While many people may prefer staying in-house many more are craving to go outside after a yearlong of staying in. So, one of the strongest trends will be transitioning from indoor gyms to exotic outdoor locations, such as the classes offer by iCycle, Commando Studio or Orangetheory Fitness.

Digital lovers

Last but not least, many fitness gyms, studios and brands have developed Apps that allow us to access to different training sessions and classes from any part of the world we want. The ones I love are: Siclo+, Nike Training Club and Adidas Training. This is what I call the ultimate personal trainer!

It doesn’t matter which one you prefer; in the end the most important thing is that you are doing something you love this way it will be easier to integrate working out as a part of your daily routine.
