Black is irreplaceable. Today I want to pay tribute to its elegance and timelessness by recommending some of my favorite pieces in this color.
We’ve all heard the expression that “such color” is the new black. “Yellow is the new black,” “red is the new black,” “orange is the new black”… Of course, this is not a phrase that we should interpret literally: when, in the fashion world, we say that a color is “the new black”, we mean that this particular shade is on trend and represents the crème de la crème of the season. A color that takes over everything and looks super chic, a color that you should definitely add to your closet.
When Pierpaolo Piccioli launched his pink poetry made garments, for the Fall/Winter 2022 season, we could have stated that pink “was the new black”; it was. However, it should also be remembered that, in that collection, Pierpaolo also paid homage to the “absence of color” with highly desirable monochromatic looks. So, in honor of the timelessness of black, its power of presence and elegance, I wanted to dedicate this shopping cart to this prestigious color, irreplaceable and indispensable.
No matter where you look, black is an essential color for any designer and brand, a basic. Karl Lagerfed expressed it well with his famous phrase “one is never over-dressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress”. From LaQuan Smith, to Alexandre Vahutier, Saint Laurent or Burberry, to Y/Project, the offer of dark garments will never disappoint.
Sira, your personal stylist: To put together a somewhat rebellious outfit, with black garments, I recommend wearing these denim shorts by Rick Owens with these amazing Bottega Veneta boots; for the top, nothing like a leather jacket (this one by Khaite looks amazing) and to close, this Y/Project x Jean Paul Gaultier blouse, And, just to give it a touch of color, I would add this gold necklace by Gemella Jewels. From all of today’s recommendations, what are you going to wear?
