Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Haute Couture shows for Valentino have become some of the most anticipated events on the fashion calendar.

One of the runways that excites me the most is, without a doubt, the Valentino Haute Couture show. Season after season, the collections created by Pierpaolo never cease to amaze me with their inventive and bold use of color. I also love the impeccable silhouettes and the fact that each piece seeks to reinvent itself. It’s not for nothing that he’s a celebrity favorite on red carpets.

During today’s show in Paris, Pierpaolo got to the root of Haute Couture, emphasizing simplicity and elegance of the level of craftsmanship required to be part of the select group of brands within Haute Couture.

Valentino presented a harmonious collection dresses, many of them covered in sequins, rhinestones, and feathers. The pieces that stood out the most were the fluid and comfortable-looking pants. A factor that added coolness to the show was the diverse cast that walked today– models of all different ages and body types, bringing some curves to the catwalk, which was very refreshing to see in a Haute Couture show. Industry legends like Kristen McMenamy, Mariacarla Boscono, and Hannelore Knuts joined the models presenting this Spring-Summer 2022 collection.

One of my favorite looks was a black mini dress with a jaw-dropping neckline. Another was the white mini dress with a geometric neckline paired with white maxi boots with cut-outs and bows. I also enjoyed the sequined mini dress paired with a maxi coat with silver embroidery. Finally, the white lace look with crystals paired with long maxi boots and a simply spectacular white feather coat is at the top of my wish list.
