A Conversation Between Lady Gaga and Pierpaolo Piccioli for Valentino

This Italian brand introduced us to Valentino Voce Viva, its newest fragrance. The perfume celebrates individuality and diversity, so who better than Lady Gaga to be the face of the campaign? The multifaceted and talented singer stars in an emotional short film in which she inspires us to lift our voices.

This fresh fragrance is perfect for summer, with top notes of mandarin, bergamot, and ginger that give way to orange blossom and gardenia at the heart of the scent and subtle final notes of vanilla, tonka, musk, sandalwood, and moss. This mixture of aromas created by Honorine Blanc and Amandine Clerc Marie comes in an elegant bottle with traditional brand elements like rockstuds on the cap.

Gucci, In Search of Innovation

Gucci is known for its mission to reduce its impact on the environment. In 2019, the brand decided to make its supply chain completely carbon neutral. Last month, Gucci introduced a new plant-based material made from viscose and wood pulp that come from sustainable and renewable sources. This fabric, entitled “Demetra,” is the result of two years of research by the brand. It’s highly durable and has the same properties as leather. Demetra is the first step towards a new world in which fashion is more sustainable and free of materials of animal origin.

As part of the Demetra launch, Gucci re-released its Gucci New Ace and Rhyton sneakers. Both sneakers are made with Demetra, recycled organic cotton, steel, and polyester. They also launched Gucci Basket, a new basketball shoe made with this new material. With Demetra, Gucci is opening a world of possibilities, one that the brand plans to share. In a few years, this new material will be available to the entire industry.

Pyer Moss’ Haute Couture Debut

This season, the Fédération de la Haute Couture invited Kerby Jean-Raymond, the fashion designer behind the brand Pyer Moss to participate in Fall 21 Haute Couture Week. This was a historic event in the world of Haute Couture. In more than 150 years of couture, Kerby Jean-Raymond is the first African-American designer to be invited to participate.

Presented at Madame C.J. Walker’s Hudson mansion, the designer’s collection was a tribute to the African American community and its contributions to the world. The collection, “Wat U Iz,” was inspired by 25 inventions by African-American individuals across history. The designer transformed each of these inventions into looks with campy aesthetics. The thousand-year-old craftsmanship of haute couture was reinvented in the rebellious spirit of Pyer Moss. This show also demonstrated the importance of inclusion and representation in our industry.

Fendi Takes Over New York

With a new space on the corner of 57th and Madison, this Italian brand is ushering in a new era. Iconic brand elements are mixed with new components of the Kim Jones aesthetic. It’s a new luxury hotspot where grandeur is not only present in Fendi’s ready-to-wear collections, bags, shoes, and accessories, but also in the space itself.

This 641-square-meter former art gallery is a unique space that celebrates the brand. Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi combined their creativity and ingenuity to make a space that presents the brand’s collections as works of art. The new aesthetic of the brand is present in the marble floors and walls, making a clear reference to Jones’ first collection for Fendi. There are also six transparent LED curtains that display images of the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana on the windows of the boutique’s facade. Marble, brass, glass, steel, and mohair come together to create an environment full of luxury, opulence, and modernity.

Bulgari Pays Homage to the Spirit of the Caribbean

From July 15 to 20, Bulgari took over the Zak Ik boutique at the Azulik hotel in Tulum. This space was transformed into a pop-up for the brand’s Resort collection. Bulgari took all of its Italian allure to the par excellence paradise of the Mexican Caribbean, Tulum.

We saw the brand’s classic piece, the Serpenti Diamond Blast bag, reinterpreted in raffia. This natural fiber version has turquoise leather accents that bring to mind the colors of the ocean and contrast well with the neutral color of raffia. There are two versions: one with a short leather handle and another with a metal chain. These limited editions personify the summery lifestyle of the streets and beaches of Tulum. In addition, the collection featured a raffia and calfskin version of the Bulgari Logo bag and silk scarves with nautical prints. The collection is full of must-have pieces, true gems that will increase in value over the years.

Film and Opulence at the Cannes Film Festival

Every year Cannes brings together the greatest minds in film. Over 12 days, we saw the best feature and short films of the year. The Cannes Film Festival is an international competition for the best film, director, actor, and actress. This year, the Palme d’Or, the prestigious accolade coveted by all directors and accompanied by a trophy designed by Chopard, went to Julia Ducournau’s Titane.

In addition to this infusion of art on the French Riviera, the city shines with glamour and elegance of the most spectacular sort. We saw several Haute Couture dresses; some of the most memorable looks were Bella Hadid in Schiaparelli and Jessica Chastain in a Dior Haute Couture dress, and an 18-carat Fairmined white gold necklace with rubies and diamonds paired with a matching ring, both from Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie. The Cannes Film Festival is a place where luxury and opulence go beyond fantasy and become reality.

HBO Max Gets Nostalgic

This streaming platform has chosen to bring back series that won the hearts of millions of viewers around the world. Appealing to our newfound nostalgia for the 90s, HBO has produced cast reunions for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, released in November of last year, and Friends, which aired on May 27.

The latest installment in this saga of revivals and reboots is Gossip Girl, whose first episode premiered on July 8th. The famous teen drama that taught us about the salacious and decadent world of New York’s elite is back with new characters, stories, and scandals that promise to keep us glued to the screen week after week. But G.G. It is not the only series that is making a comeback; at the end of 2021, HBO Max is bring us And Just Like That…a sequel to the famous series Sex and the City. And I couldn’t help but wonder if everyone will be trying to decide whether they’re a Carrie, Miranda, or Charlotte (RIP Samantha) again.

This is small summary of some of the biggest news from recent week:, the latest in fashion, beauty, film, and television. These topics have been trending ever since they were first announced and continue to be hot on social media.
