Feeling blue doesn't always have to mean being sad. Blue can express much more through our clothes.
The expression “feeling blue” can be used to say that you’re feeling sad; is one of those curious idioms for someone who, like me, is a native Spanish speaker. I’m pretty sure you’ve also heard of “blue monday”, known as the “saddest day of the year”; well, you should know that it’s not blue just because fun factthis date was born in 2005 thanks to the union between the travel agency Sky Travel and psychologist Cliff Arnall, and it started to be fixed in calendars as a marketing strategy to get people to travel in a month when flights are scarce).
However, blue isn’t a color with which we can (or should) associate only sadness. When thinking about this family of shades, there are a lot more meanings that can come to mind: peace and harmony, tranquility, security, confidence… It makes me think of the blue sky meeting the deep ocean on the horizon, a scene that fills me with calm and that, at the same time, makes me feel very small in the immensity of everything around us (sorry if I got too existentialist).
Blue has been a very good ally of great artists such as Yves Klein (who has his own shade of blue), Picasso (take a look at his work between 1901 and 1904) or Kandinsky (he related it to infinity), so we could also say that it is a highly inspiring tone. Between films like “Three Colors: Blue” by Krzysztof Kieślowski or “Mood Indigo” by Michel Gondry (both of which I highly recommend), or “The Blue Album” by Weezer, it’s surprising the amount of creatorz that have taken blue as their main muse! Some studies even point out that it is the favorite color of most people (I am excluded from this count, top, top, top because I’m in complete love with white and lilac).
However, the fact that other colors are at the top of my list doesn’t stop me from enjoying wearing blue in its many facets, from ultramarine (once very coveted, even compared to gold) to pastel: I wear it when I’m happy, when I want to convey quietness or simply when I feel that it’s a sunny day and it looks to be positive and fun.
Do you like to wear this color? It’s ideal and attractive, very versatile; perfect for evenings in its darker versions, or for mornings and days in its lighter range. blue Feeling blue doesn’t always have to be a negative thing, that’s why today, in my shopping cart, I bring you a wide selection of blue clothes to give a new meaning to this phrase.
