Bags have gone from being an accessory to an investment. This season, look for a bag in a vibrant hue to add a touch of color and playfulness to any outfit.

A bag can be the focal point of any look. It can transform a boring outfit into a memorable one or a traditional look into a daring one. The universe of bags is vast. Each season, there’s a new “it bag” and there are those timeless models that have a waiting list for people who want to buy them and other vintage bags that are collector’s items.

The market for bags is one of the most profitable for luxury brands. According to data from 2018, the luxury designer bag segment was valued at 58.3 billion dollars, and it is expected to exceed 80 billion dollars in 5 years. Bags are also the perfect way to capture the attention of new generations and young professionals who want to access the luxury universe.

Season after season, there are new trends and designs for bags. For Fall 21, one of the strongest trends is eye-catching bags in vibrant colors. A bag in a bubblegum pink or fiery red goes from being a utilitarian accessory to a conversation piece. A total look in a neutral hues like white, black, nude can be completely transformed with the addition of a tote in sapphire blue. Brightly colored bags take the monotony out of a wardrobe.

We saw this trend on a lot of the runways from different designers around the world. Isabel Marant gave us an XL clutch with red fringe that contrasted with a total white look. At Balmain, Olivier Rousteing presented a black jumpsuit and a neon yellow mini bag. Prada gave us a grape-colored bag that created a color block effect when combined with a sky blue coat. Bags in energetic colors are no longer just another accessory; they are statement pieces.

Without a doubt, this is one of the trends that I love the most this season. I love how I can combine my cosmetics, like lipstick and nail polish, with a Bulgari Serpenti Forever bag in red for the perfect match. I love playing with different shades and creating contrasts in a look, like I did when I combined my Bottega Veneta pouch in amethyst with a red dress and sweater in  canary. I also like creating gradients, like total black look combined with a yellow Hermès Kelly bag and pistachio green Prada gloves.

Dare to invest in a designer bag in a bright hue, and have some fun creating outfits that combine your personality and passion for fashion.
